Cyber Resiliency Act
Product Liability Directive
The Act provides that products with digital elements shall only be made available on the market if they meet essential cybersecurity requirements and the procedures implemented by their manufacturer comply with these requirements.
Originally adopted in 1985, the Product Liability Directive is being modernized to take into account modern day issues such as cybersecurity so that consumers are fairly compensated when defective digital products cause harm, even if no fault can be proved.
